This class will focus on creating art for Animation. Students will learn to draw various cartoon characters ‘on model’ (in proportion) with correct perspective. All levels of drawing ability are welcome as the instructor will teach the students how to block out drawings and achieve dynamic poses and expressions for their characters.
Emphasis is placed on using the 12 principles of Animation to create the following production materials:
- Layouts using perspective
- Animation with characters
- Tonal rendering of layout (gray-scale sketch)
- Background painting using water colour
- Storyboard sequence with dialogue and camera directions
- Character model sheets with turn-arounds and mouth shapes for dialogue
