Description: Colour is the soul of painting. Its mastery enables the artist to create vivid and infinitely varied works of art. Colour definitions, matching, harmony and balance
will be explored through both colour theory and practice in this five-day workshop. Participants will learn the fundamentals of colour principles through examination of existing colour models, and venture towards making their own
judgments (independent of theoretical models) by oberving reality. (Nature) The completion of colour studies, exercises in both "abstract" colour combining and "reality"-based mixing from a live model will enable

Painting a beautiful portrait while capturing a good likeness is a goal most artists share, but struggle to achieve. In this portrait workshop, students mainly focus on the preliminary stages to developing
a painting from life. Now you can learn how to paint a realistic portrait from the live model, whether you're a beginner or a more advanced painter. Much of what you will learn can be applied to all areas of painting,
not just portraiture.
Instructor Juan Carlos Martinez will paint a demo portrait to show each step of the method, which you will in turn put into action on your own portrait.
Each student gets encouraging, individual coaching —from a teacher who paints the kind of portraits most of us only dream of. Recent participants were thrilled with their results.
