COVID policy for this new school year

To all Monart Parents and Students,

We have received confirmation from CEPEO Management that we can resume classes starting September the 07th 2021. This is great news for everyone wishing to return to Monart and take classes in person (Online classes will still be available). However, this also comes with changes. We are living in challenging times and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 we must all do our part. The guidelines at Monart starting on Monday will be:

1 – Students/Parents will be asked to fill out a questionnaire for contact tracing. Along with this questionnaire, your temperature will be taken with an infrared thermometer. If you show signs of illness, we reserve the right to deny classes and ask that individual to return home immediately. This also means we won’t be offering make up classes for any classes that are missed.

2 – Students/Parents will be asked to wear a mask at all times while inside the building. The elevators will not be in use but you will have access to the stairway (south side of elevators). Sanitizer will be available at Monart once you arrive. We will have marked areas where parents can wait (2 meters apart) when dropping off or picking up students. Our waiting room has very limited seating, so we ask that parents wait upstairs in the lobby or in their cars until class is done.

3 – Our class size is now limited to 6 students Max. This means 1 student per table. You are allowed to remove your mask once you arrive at your table, but we recommend that you keep your mask on for the duration of class. Each student will be provided with their own “box” of materials. These materials include pencils, erasers, ect, only to be used by that student alone. Sharing of supplies is not allowed. These materials are included in the class fee.

4 – The use of the sink in the Kitchen area is limited to one person at a time. There will be a pause between uses to allow for sanitation of the sink area. The washrooms in the building will be limited to 2 individuals at a time. Signage will be provided for proper sanitation and cleaning while in the washroom. We ask that Students/ Parents sanitize each time you leave or enter the school. The public fountains in the building are not to be used. We recommend you bring your own water bottle or use the filtered water on offer at the school.

5 – We ask that Students/Parents respect social distancing and try to maintain 6 feet (2 meters) distance from anyone outside your immediate family. Payments should be made through Interact, Visa or E-Transfers. We won’t be accepting cash at this time. Receipts will be issued upon request.

A new class schedule will be available on our website as well as the new prices. We are looking forward to returning to Monart and all the wonderful projects we will create. If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact us over email or over the phone.
